Standardized three-phase asynchronous motor designed for general use in industrial applications, with short-circuited, closed cage rotor, externally self-ventilated (IC 411 cooling method), thermal insulation class F (motor overtemperature class B for all motors with normalized power; class B or B/F for the remaining three-phase and single-phase motors).

Designed to operate in continuous service (S1) at nominal voltage and frequency, indicated in the manual and nameplate.
Permissible working environment temperature: - 15 to + 40 °C
Permitted working environment altitude: Up to 1000m above sea level.

The JM80~160 SERIES and GM160~355 SERIES asynchronous electric motors are made on request in special executions for safe use in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres, according to the ATEX directive 2014/34/UE group II, category 3D zone 22 and category 3G zone 2 (see Special Executions page).
